Jesus Changes Everything

We live in a world obsessed with finding “the way.” The fastest route to work. The best way to get healthy. The most efficient way to find happiness.
Even the way to God.
Religions throughout history have offered systems and paths to follow—Buddhism’s Eightfold Path, Islam’s Five Pillars, Hinduism’s pursuit of Moksha. In each, the way matters more than the one who taught it. You can follow the teaching without really knowing the teacher.
But Jesus changes the rules. In John 14:5–6, when Thomas asks how to find the way, Jesus says, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” He doesn’t just point to a path—He is the path.
Knowing Him is knowing the way.
This truth confronts us with a decision: Is Jesus really who He says He is? If He is the Son of God, then He is more than a wise teacher—He is the Savior who changes everything. And when we truly follow Him, that change touches every part of life: how we speak, forgive, love, give, and serve.
Baptism is a vivid picture of this. Romans 6 says "that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life."
We are baptized into Jesus.
We are buried with Christ in His death and raised to walk in new life. It’s not about sprinkling a little Jesus on top—it’s about being completely immersed, like an ice cream with toppings mixed all the way through--as opposed to just a little bit on the top.
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.
